By: Jaaziel Job Pictures courtesy of Amos Wong & Universal Music Singapore The boys from the British rock band; Lawson were in Singapore recently and needless to say, the FANGIRLS went wild! The sexy quartet consisting of Andy Brown, Joel Peat, Ryan Fletcher & Adam Pitts performed for the first time in Singapore at the St James Power Station to a crowd of 900 adoring & aroused (HAHAHA) fans! They opened up the show with the song "Everywhere You Go" from their debut album "Chapman Square" and closed the set with their hit single, a personal favourite; "Standing In The Dark". I'll be honest, before the show , I just somehow assumed that Lawson was a typical cookie-cutter pop boy-band! (They're everywhere, Who could blame me!) Lawson's cover of Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger was what really SEALED THE DEAL and bought me over! Everyone was up on their feet, dancing & singing along. Even the 'aunties & uncles!'. It just proved to everyone how versatile these lads really are. There's nothing cookie-cutter about them. I may be in love. Another thing that really stood out for me was the fact that these boys actually play their own instruments. The entire performance was so raw; there was no auto tune, no fancy nancy yada yada crap! Just these amazingly talented boys putting on an amazing live rock show! There's no doubt in my head now, I'm a fan and I'm hoping for a full headline tour! We managed to catch up with Ryan Fletcher and Joel Peat and found out some really interesting facts about them. 1) Stop throwing light-sticks at them. They hate it! 2) They hate the term boy-band. According to Ryan Fletcher it is a very "lazy-term" 3) They love barbecued sting-ray! Watch the full interview below!
