By: Alexandrea van Huizen 'Bed Peace' is the second single off Jhené Aiko's latest EP entitled 'Sail Out' released on November 12 2013, featuring rapper Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover (Troy Barnes in the hit television show 'Community'). In the song, Jhené sings about how as important as it is to move on and up in life, it's also as important to take time to stop and smell the roses. There is such a powerful message that goes along with the song, like how extremely vital it is for us to take time for ourselves and do the things we wanna do despite what anyone else says. Hopefully, this inspires the new generation to step out of their comfort zone and attempt to be a little more braver in everything they say and do. The music video depicts a modern take on the classic 1969 'bed-in' initiated by the legendary John Lennon and wife Yoko Ono. Although there is no doubt that 'Bed Peace' is indeed a very chill and great song to vibe to, there have been mixed reviews about the video. Some are supporting the movement wholeheartedly but there are others who are just enraged with the fact that Jhené drew inspiration from John and Yoko and are just mindlessly accusing her of being a 'copycat' with no originality. One thing is for sure though, whether you love or hate it, it's not gonna stop Jhené from making music. Look out for the much anticipated debut studio album 'Souled Out' once it hits stores May 14, 2014.
