By: Alexandrea van Huizen Crooner Ed Sheeran has just released the music video for 'Thinking Out Loud', the third and latest single off his second album- 'x'. Fans worldwide had been anticipating the video since September 19 when the singer tweeted "Shooting the video for 'Thinking out loud' today". Leading up to the video's release, Ed had also been cited saying that the video will definitely shock people. Unlike his first two rather up-tempo singles, 'Thinking Out Loud' has a more mellow feel to it. Two things you wouldn't expect from the video, firstly- to actually see the songster as the main focus throughout and secondly- to see him do a full rehearsed contemporary ballroom dance number. Although it is an extremely simple video concept, it is evident that Ed Sheeran is exactly the type of performer who needs zero theatrics to amaze his audience. Judging from the countless positive feedback thus far on Ed's official VEVO Youtube page, it is obvious that everyone is loving the new music video as much as we do! Personally, I can't wait to see what else Ed Sheeran has up his sleeves for us. Be sure to grab a physical copy of 'x' in stores near you or digitally on the iTunes store.

By: Megan Williams Ed Sheeran has, from the very start of his career, shown an impressive capacity to go against the grain and still experience great successes. His debut album ‘+’ is a exemplary of the fact that, even in an era where the charts are dominated by electronic beats, someone with a completely different approach to music can shine through. With his second studio album ‘x’ (or ‘Multiply’), Sheeran has verified himself as an unbelievably talented artist. Ed has been the first to admit that, for anyone, the second album has always got a ‘make-or-break’ stigma attached to it. There have been countless artists, whose second albums have fallen dramatically short of their debuts, leaving them to, unfortunately, fall by the wayside. The pressure was on for Sheeran, who, after the success of ‘+’, had all eyes on him to produce another chart topping album. Ed made a daring move by releasing ‘Sing’ as the first single, in the sense that it was completely different to what his fans were used to hearing from him. The song served the purpose of showing everyone the incredible variety Ed Sheeran is capable of, and in turn intensified the hype surrounding the album. ‘Sing’ introduced the fans to a whole new side of Sheeran, and suddenly opened the singer up to an even wider audience. Since its release, ‘Sing’ has become one of this summers anthems, as well as Sheerans first single to reach Number 1 in the UK. Photo: Dan Winton. One impressive characteristic demonstrated on the album, out of many, is Sheerans songwriting cabilities. It has almost become a rarity to come across an artist who writes his or her own material, or shows particular flair in the music writing field- which makes the raw talent possessed by Ed Sheeran all the more exciting. Regardless of which song you choose to listen to on the album, you will be duly captivated by the lyrics. Somehow, Sheeran manages to continually come out with music that is poetic, beautiful and instantly relatable. The musical variety demonstrated on this album really is a credit to Ed Sheeran. He effortlessly shifts between the hip-hop vibes of songs such as ‘Sing’ and ‘Don’t’, to the softer, more melodic tones like those you hear in ‘One’. There is a song on this album for everyone, and the fact that Sheeran can provide this diversity is a skill that will help him to leave indelible marks on the music industry, and on pop culture. By: Alexandrea van Huizen After his massively well-received debut album '+' in 2011, British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran is back! Ed took to twitter and officially announced that 'Sing' would be the first single off his new album which is set to be released later this year. The world exclusive first play was on Monday, April 7 during Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. Ed also decided to tease the public with a short acoustic performance of 'Sing' just two days before the expected airplay. As if that wasn't enough good news for his fans worldwide, the 'Lego House' singer also tweeted, "My 2nd album is called 'x' or 'multiply' and will released on the 23rd of June worldwide. Can't wait for you guys to hear it."! Since it's release on Monday, there have been many positive reviews about 'Sing'. Ed has been getting a ton of support from fans and fellow artistes alike. Unlike many of Ed's previous tracks, this one is slightly more upbeat. During the Teenage Cancer Trust show last month, Ed performed many of his chart-topping hits like 'The A Team' and 'Drunk'. He also unveiled a couple new songs entitled 'Tenerife Sea' and 'Take It Back Now' which will appear on the deluxe version of his next album. Below is the album track-list tweeted from Ed's official instagram and twitter accounts. We have 'Sing' on repeat and are extremely stoked about the album release. We're sure the latest one will be equally as good, if not better than his debut album. Be sure to grab a copy of 'x' once it hits the shelves in June!
