By: Alexandrea van Huizen In this generation of young singers with similar sounds, it is exceedingly refreshing to have someone like George Ezra in the music scene. Ezra is a twenty-one year old folk singer/songwriter hailing from Bristol. Though he first made his mark after releasing two EPs- ‘Did You Hear The Rain’ and ‘Casey’O’, he only really skyrocketed to fame after his first single, ‘Budapest’ made it to the top 10 chart in multiple countries. Ezra later included all the songs off his EPs onto his debut album entitled ‘Wanted On Voyage’ which he released in June 2014. ‘Wanted On Voyage’ is an excellent album filled with an array of exceptionally written, produced and executed tracks. A unique trait which sets Ezra apart from other young artistes in the industry is definitely his voice, something you would not expect to hear from someone of his age. A young face with an old soul, if you will. Listen To The ManIn the music video for one of his rather more upbeat song called ‘Listen to the Man’, iconic actor Sir Ian McKellen is featured playing the role of an incessant interrupter with absolutely no boundaries and I can assure you, hilarity ensues. With this album, it is undeniable that Ezra is truly a rising star and definitely one to keep an eye out for. I'm sure fans everywhere are eagerly anticipating his next move. Until then, remember to grab a copy of 'Wanted on Voyage' both physically in stores and digitally on iTunes, if you haven't already.

By: Megan Williams By: Jaaziel Job Singer/Songwriter Ed Sheeran will host his first concert in Singapore on March 14th!
'The A Team' singer will be performing at The Star Theatre to what we believe would be a sold out crowd! We hope you are as excited as we are. Tickets go on sale from the 27th of October. By: Jerome Setho American Idol alumni Chris Daughtry was in Singapore with his band recently to perform at Ion Orchard’s fifth anniversary fashion concert. The annual affair held outside the iconic mall has seen a stellar list of performers that include Carrie Underwood, David Cook and Boys Like Girls.
Chris Daughtry was last here in 2010, where he performed at the Formula One Singapore Music Party with his band, ‘Daughtry’. This time, with a smaller set up, they performed an acoustic set with only Chris Daughtry , keyboardist Elvio Fernandez and guitarist Brian Craddock making the trip here Daughtry kicked off the intimate set with the title track to their latest album 'Baptized'. This was the first of three songs they played from the record- which included the catchy sing-along track 'Battleships' and their insanely popular single 'Waiting for Superman'. The rest of the set was made up of other fan favourites like 'Over You', 'Home' and 'It's not Over'. It was indeed a treat for new and older fans alike. Despite a 20 minute rain delay, Daughtry delivered and gave a stellar performance throughout the night, proving why Chris remains to be one of the most successful alumni in American Idol history. All in all, it was a night to remember for all present. With great vocal ability and charisma to boot, it is without a doubt that Chris Daughtry will be around for many more years to come. PS: LUVTHELIFE had the opportunity to interview him before his concert! Keep checking back! We recently interviewed X Factor Australia winner; Dami Im while she was here in Singapore for a concert at the Marina Bay Sands. Such a sweet heart. Check it out! By: Jaaziel Job After an incredibly successful event last year, the acts of Shut Up and Listen 2014 had big shoes to fill. Headliners ‘Hands Like Houses’, ‘Avastera’, ‘ Here Come The Cavalry’, Monster Cat and Kawehi did more than just that! It was a night of head banging, screaming and crazy dancing. We had the opportunity to interview Avastera, Hands Like Houses, Here Come The Cavalry, and Kawehi before the show. We asked them about their music, song writing and even quizzed them on some interesting Singapore facts. Keep checking back, you don’t want to miss this! Meanwhile, here's a sneak peak! By: Alexandrea van Huizen Crooner Ed Sheeran has just released the music video for 'Thinking Out Loud', the third and latest single off his second album- 'x'. Fans worldwide had been anticipating the video since September 19 when the singer tweeted "Shooting the video for 'Thinking out loud' today". Leading up to the video's release, Ed had also been cited saying that the video will definitely shock people. Unlike his first two rather up-tempo singles, 'Thinking Out Loud' has a more mellow feel to it. Two things you wouldn't expect from the video, firstly- to actually see the songster as the main focus throughout and secondly- to see him do a full rehearsed contemporary ballroom dance number. Although it is an extremely simple video concept, it is evident that Ed Sheeran is exactly the type of performer who needs zero theatrics to amaze his audience. Judging from the countless positive feedback thus far on Ed's official VEVO Youtube page, it is obvious that everyone is loving the new music video as much as we do! Personally, I can't wait to see what else Ed Sheeran has up his sleeves for us. Be sure to grab a physical copy of 'x' in stores near you or digitally on the iTunes store.
By: Jaaziel Job I use to hate my freckles growing up. They were different; they set me apart from everyone else. Today, those are the reasons why I love them. I think you get to a point in life where you realise these are the cards you were dealt. You can only do so much. You can exercise, eat healthy, do beauty treatments, dye your hair, pick your clothing, get braces, but you can't change your skin or bone structure. These are things we must learn to love and accept! PHOTO: LADY GUNN / KAREN EVANS Audrey Kitching entered the world of modelling at the tender age of 14. Now, some 15 years later - the 29 year old can also add designer, fashion journalist and entrepreneur to her list of ‘conquests’. She knew she looked different from the quintessential model and worked that to her advantage. “Now the industry celebrates being unique and different. 7 years ago, you were considered a freak. Beauty doesn't just come in one package - it is universal and shows up in all different shades of life.” Audrey was adamant about how she was going to express herself, she was not going to conform to the ‘fashion norms’ that society had set out. Today, the reputable model is respected across the industry with photographers and designers waiting at the edge of their seat for a chance to work with the pink haired beauty. A lot of the teams I get to work with see me as an artist and respect that. We all come up with themes and work on them together! It's a joint process. PHOTO: LADY GUNN / KAREN EVANS We had the opportunity to chat with the lovely Audrey Kitching in this exclusive interview with LTL. Firstly, Tell us a little bit more about yourself?
I'm a designer, model, and artist. I'm also a crystal worker, reiki practicer and energy healer. Think fashion meets cosmic consciousness. Who would you classify as your style icon(s) and why? I love models off-duty and spiritual people from different cultures. I get so much inspiration from real life people all over the world through watching documentaries and the internet! Currently, I'm loving ancient Egypt and Indian temples. I mix that into my fashion by splicing it with runway looks and thrifted items! You started modelling at the age of 14, how has things changed for you personally? Now, I almost have full control over the editorials I do, a lot of the teams I get to work with see me as an artist and respect that. We come up with themes and work on them together! It's a joint process. When I first started modelling, I was just a blank canvas and I had to do whatever I was told. Freedom is a brilliant thing! How do you think the industry has changed since? It's so much more accepting of being different. Now, the industry almost celebrates being unique and different. 7 years ago, you were considered a freak. I think this is so important to show that beauty doesn't just come in one package- it's universal and shows up in all different shades of life. What is a big fashion ‘no-no’ for you? Too much makeup and looking too fake! I love effortless beauty. When people look put together naturally without trying so hard, thats unique and beautiful. What should every girl have in her closet? A designer sunglass, a vintage leather jacket and a killer pair of black boots! Three staples that make any outfit edgy, chic and stylish! What is 'Crystal Cactus'? I wanted to merge my lifestyle into a project. I wanted to show people that you can be spiritual and conscious and still be unique and stylish! So many people think you can only be one thing. That is so far from the truth! Making healing crystals and sacred rituals is something that anyone can appreciate - It's bringing ancient secrets to the surface...so to speak. Lastly, a message to all your supporters in Singapore and Asia? I have such a vast appreciation for Asian style, culture, food and nature! I love everything about it and look forward to exploring it all in person in the near future! SHUT UP AND LISTEN (#SUL14) is back again this year with an amazing line up! This is year, the festival will host Australian alternative rock bands 'HANDS LIKE HOUSES', 'HERE COME THE CAVALRY' and 'AVASTERA'. Also due to grace the #SUL14 stage are homegrown rockers 'MONSTER CAT' and American beauty 'KAWEHI'! You don't want to miss this! Mark your calendars - October 4th is the big day!
